Last stretch

5/7/2019

We are now in our last stretch of the school year. Students are diligently working on a research project and will present them to the class when finished.

Finals for ELA will be held from Monday, May 13 - Wednesday, May 15.

On Thursday, May 16, our 8th graders will have their end of year field trip to Main Event.

On Friday, May 17, our 7th graders will have their activity day.

INFORMATION

4/11/2019

We are still working full-force during these last weeks of school. We are currently working in our poetry unit of study. Students have been reading, viewing, listening to, and analyzing classic and modern poets in addition to lyrics from various music artists.

NON-PARCC TESTING
Although the PARCC has been abolished, we will still have state standardized testing this year. Testing will begin on Tuesday, April 23, through Thursday, May 2, 2019. Make-up testing days will follow through May 10.

last quarter of the school year

3/20/2019

We are now in our last quarter of the school year. Students will continue to work on various English skills to ensure their preparation for the next grade.

Although we are no longer taking the PARCC test, there will still be a state standardized assessment required which will begin on April 22, 2019.

2nd semester

2/4/2019

As we continue to work this semester, there will be a heavy focus on strengthening writing skills. Students will conduct research, continue to analyze texts, and complete various types of writing assignments to include short constructed responses and essay format.

Winter break

Winter break is nearly upon us. Finals will occur during the week of December 17, the last day before break is Thursday, December 20.

Student-led conferences

Student-led conferences will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 30th and 31st. We look forward to seeing you with your child. There will be NO SCHOOL on those days.

We are back in session and students are adjusting well as we settle into the new school year.

Students have worked hard this year, and we are finally coming to the end of this school year. Final exams are wrapping up this week. Events for next week are below.

Monday will be Activity Day for students.
Tuesday will the Awards Ceremony.
Wednesday is the last day of school with a dismissal time of 11:30.

Still lots to be done....

Although there are only a few weeks remaining, there is still lots to be done. Students, be sure that you continue to come to school with the mindset that you will be continuously working, learning, and getting prepared for the next grade level.

PARCC testing

4/14/2018

Parents and students, PARCC testing will be administered during the weeks of April 16th and April 23rd. Makeup testing will occur during the following week.

Testing days are as follows:
Tuesdays - 6th graders
Wednesdays - 7th graders
Thursdays - 8th graders
